Hey Alumni Family,

    I hope you found our new website well. Just wanted to drop a line to try and catch you up on what's going on.

    We'll start with Alumni weekend. Friday morning the Alumni golf tournament kicked off with a bang, had 3 man teams and they played at the Shadow Ridge Course in Hattiesburg. Thjanks to Allan Kea and Danny & Debbie Yoakam, it was a huge success raising about $8,000 for the school thru the tournament and raffle. I can't thank them enough for all their hard work and endless hours in planning every detail. Friday night we gathered for a vespers get together in the chapel and Burney Culpepper Jr. had that for us. Tui Pittman had our church service. 
    We had almost three hundred alumni plus families. It was a good turn out and we had a great time. Hope to see you next year, honor class or not.

                                                            MARCH 25 - 27, 2011

    This summer you alumni dollars were spent on the facilities homes. We vinyl sided them. We spent about $24,000 on that project and it looks great. Next time you are on campus check it out, I promise you will be impressed.
    The school year at Bass started off with a low enrollment of about 65 which caused a major budget deficit. (we need about 120 students to break even) So the conference board decided to sak the principle and his wife to leave. And asked Phil Wilhelm, alumni class of '92. to be intern principle and Burney Culpepper Jr. to be vice principle. And because finances were so low they had to cut a couple more staff including Mr. Southard and Mrs. Barker. Both of them have been at Bass a lot of years and we will miss them greatly. Bass needs our prayers and support now more than ever.
    I decided to try something new this year, a little get together in Chattanooga, TN since so mant Alumni live in that area. So we tried it the weekend of October 15-16 and had a prety good turn out, about75 friday night and 100 on Sabbath. No big deal just a get together. We had chili supper friday night and Sundown worship then Sabbath we had brunch a little service and a winnie roast that night. I thought it turned out pretty well so I think we will try it again next year. I'll let you know the date!
